an open letter to consuelo castiglioni

dear consuelo

i have been eyeing up the various statement accessories on the Marni website for about three seasons now. i've been ignoring them thinking that the current lean towards chunky elaborate jewellery, particularly collar pieces which are the equivalent of hanging a shop sign around your shoulders, would just blow away. it hasn't. and now i want all of the pieces listed below. i know a pre-requisite for the necklaces is a swan-like neck but gosh darn it, i don't care. believe it or not consuelo, sometimes women just don't give a fig whether something suits their dratted body shape. sometimes women (men too while we're at it) just want to posess things because they are beautiful. i love the organic way the various bits and pieces entwine around each other, the lustre with which the horn and resin glow, the ribbon that they're tied with.
