Sometimes I feel like I'm 25 going on 50. On the rare ocassions I'm out at night in the weekends, I'm that crochety, grumpy old hag muttering things like "Isn't she cold?" or screwing my face up in distaste. Really, it's just envy. I'm envious of their energy, their sense of self-entitlement that makes them believe absolutely everyone wants to hear about their life from the back of the bus, their tight thighs and unmarked skin, their ability to dress in a chambray shirt, bandage skirt, and clumpy Docs and not know that Brenda Walsh from 90210 had that look down pat about a decade ago. Do you remember your 18 year old self?

That dress is so lovely. The print is positively magical!! I do remember my 18 year old self -- I do remember and don't miss 18, but I do miss 21/22 though. That period of youth & carefree-ness seems somehow perfect.
ReplyDeleteHaha actually I'm seventeen and I feel like you do! I cannot be out in the cold for very long or else I get so irritable!
ReplyDeleteAnd all these photos are SO LOVELY. You look so pretty and peaceful in them. Definitely looks quite warm out!
What a pretty dress. I love the collage of photos together in this post.
ReplyDeleteI do remember my 18 year old self, when I see teens now i think 'god what I really that annoying to passers by?' lol. But I do miss the weekends of friends, excitement, carelessness, and new love :)

I'm not even quite 18 and I feel like I know exactly how you feel. I just don't have the right personality for that whole self-entitlement thing.

Teenagers terrify me. I'm still a geeky fourteen-year-old at heart.
ReplyDeleteLovely dress!
What a lovely dress, Ana! You seem to float in it. :) I used to wear the chambray shirt and watching 90210 way back. Those were the days and as usual fashion repeats itself.

ReplyDeleteGorgeous, you and the dress and the camera and the photos. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm getting to be a curmudgeon too! Yes, I remember being 18 - it was a strange time. But lately I'm realizing why so many adults "hate" teenagers. SO sassy! Haha.

ReplyDeleteYour dress is so pretty, I love the flow and the pattern. I certainly wish I was 18...I know it was only three years ago for me but I already hate getting older. I felt like I could do so much more with my life back then compared to now.
ReplyDeleteAt 18, I thought I ruled the world.
ReplyDeleteAt 25, I know I'm only beginning to discover the world.

ReplyDeleteMy 18 year old self was spectacularly unfocussed and a bit depressed - I'm much much happier now - I wouldn't go back for the world!
