Halloween with Alexander McQueen

It occurred to me that recent runway collections lend themselves perfectly to Halloween. costume parties Let's take Alexander McQueen - just add strategically smeared fake blood and you're ready to do the monster mash.

My personal favourite is the bird dress. I'd team it with my skull and bones headband/necklace, bare feet, and a trail of blood down the side of my mouth. Classic.

If you don't want to put in the extra effort of blood smearing or can't afford to shell out 97 cents for the fake blood since you've already paid thousands of dollars for the designer outfit, Rodarte has it all wrapped up.

  1. I agree; the bird dress wins the most points for me too. I quite like the bottom right dress in McQueen's collection, the mini toga-y dress that looks like it's made out of black and white hair... :)

Btw, That skull and bone headband ROCKS! You have to wear it outside of halloween because it's way way too cool to be worn only once a year! >:)

  2. wow, what a great post.
i never even thought about it, but you're so right. especially alexander mcqueen, what a god. that dress with the tree print on it is just made for halloween, as are the feathers.

lovely choices. i would kill to wear that flowing white mcqueen dress to halloween. as it is, i'm stuck with one i've cobbled together out of a sheet and some damask curtains no-one wants.. we do what we can, right?

and rodarte... the one on abbey lee would make you the belle of the ball, wouldn't it? *sigh* if only i was that tall, that thin, that rich and that confident to wear a dress like that.

hope you had a great halloween!

  3. the romantic apple: that's so true. the texture is like hair. i'd love to see it in real life. and the headband will definitely come out again!

hrose: i agree with all of your comments! and i think this rodarte show was the one where abbey lee tripped and fell over on the runway. so there's a small consolation that she's so fab ;)
