I uploaded the post which first featured this skirt onto wardrobe_remix and was somewhat bemused to find about six other wardrobe_remixers wearing some sort of variation of the black and white check pattern on the same day. Maybe I shouldn't have been surprised considering all the plaid out in stores and the Dolce & Gabbana fall/winter 2009 collection.

Today I also went to the Patient Photographer's house to celebrate Diwali (Festival of Lights). Candles and oil burners are lit to invite Laxmi, the goddess of wealth, into the home. It also signifies the triumph of light over darkness, and funnily enough, good over evil.
