I'm something of a historical movie junkie especially if it features a strong, historical female character and fantastic wardrobe frippery. So let's talk about The Young Victoria with Emily Blunt and Rupert Friend (who looks a little like a pale Orlando Bloom in the trailer). I remember watching a BBC tv movie in 2001 called Victoria & Albert. I cried so hard my mother heard me wailing from upstairs. I don't know which is more tragic - the love story or my sixteen year old self sobbing hysterically in front of the tv. Votes?

Now, onto the awards! I am so excited to have received the "Your Blog is Fabulous" award from the bubbly and always funny Casey at Sing Before Seven (sorry, hun! all fixed). Please stop by and visit her. Her pictures are guaranteed to put a smile on your face. Also, to Andrea at La Alaskena and Emily at This Ragdoll's Riches who passed on the Proximidade award. Thank you so much, lovelies! These awards are so special to me.

As customary, I would like to pass these on to my favourite bloggers, without whom my day would not be so bright:
Eeli at Aphex Nation - for her sense of humour
Flashes of Style - for her incredibly style
Luphia at Luphia loves... - for her fantastic eye

Anna at much love - for her sweetness

I'm looking forward to that movie too! And don't worry, it's not tragic at all to cry in front of the TV!
ReplyDeleteOh, and THANK YOU for the awards! That made me so very happy :)
You got my blog name wrong, but you said such nice things about me I'll totally let it slide :]
ReplyDeleteOh my god and I really want to see that movie now! Sometimes I just get in the mood to watch a movie that will make me cry for a bit. Of course, this is easy seeing as how I cry at every movie. Dumbo? I cried. A.I.: Artificial Intelligence? I cried. Prancer [some old Christmas movie about a reindeer]? I apparently cried for days, but I don't remember anything about that.
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!thank u!!!!im so happyyyy!!my first awards ever!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteEmily Blunt is one of my favorite actresses. I will have to check the movie out!
ReplyDeleteI cannot wait to see The Young Victoria, but I haven't heard for certain when it is going to be released in the US. Don't consider yourself tragic - I greatly appreciate films that move me enough to tears. I like the connection of human feeling.
ReplyDeletethanks, you are the sweetest! :D and i saw the trailer for the movie too and it looks like a beautiful film! a definite must see!
