I'm irrationally envious and in awe of young Mary's 16 year old self-taught photographic prowess. Her pictures are reminiscent of my beloved Ida Borg and Lina Scheynius. Her photos are a delicious mix of idyllic vignettes which slowly descend into beautiful but unsettling still lifes of controlled chaos, exemplified by a flower in one shot, and in the next, its crumpling ashes as it is set alight. I could only dream of having the eye, the mind for concepts, and the technical ability Mary has. Visit her. She's kind of a big deal to me.
