I missed out on going to The Big Schwop this weekend. If you want to know how it went, visit Natelle here who walked away with some fabulous things. I didn't completely miss out however as I recently did a fun dress swap with with Vicci. I think this is a great idea, especially if you're concerned about the sustainability of clothing. First and foremost, the fashion industry is about profit. Where before designers only had to put out two seasons (fall/winter and spring/summer) some quick-minded marketing nut decided there was more money to be bled out of consumers and so resort and pre-fall as "seasons" were born. It's not all the higher-ups fault, however. We, as consumers, lap it up. More clothes, more trends, and ever shorter attention spans. We're like magpies converging on the latest, shiniest thing that catches our eye, swooping away without a care as soon as something sparkly and new comes into vision.

♥ Dress was swapped with Vicci ♥ Belt from Portmans ♥ Wedges from The Warehouse ♥ Bag from Farmers ♥ Bangle from Equip ♥ Location: Petone Foreshore ♥
beautiful. What a pretty location. Looks so serene.
ReplyDeletei like your dress and got to say you've got amazing collection.
That dress is so lovely. The dress swap sounds like a terrific idea. I'm definitely all for sustainable fashion. I remember reading about the huge amount waste that is caused by the fashion/clothing industry, and it is just insane!
ReplyDeleteVery beautiful. I like the soft pattern on your dress against the colour of the belt.
ReplyDeleteYay! I'm glad you liked the dress, I wore your dress this weekend, but the pictures I took are AWFUL!I will do a better job next time:-)

ReplyDeleteLove all girl!
you look so beautiful and feminine! and I must agree with you, though I am at fault as well!
ReplyDeleteAdorable dress and great post! It's awesome to hear this on a fashion blog - so many bloggers are constantly buying new things. It really is such a waste for new clothes to be made so often!! I've been pretty sustainable lately - I haven't bought any clothes for myself in a few months. Hahaha! :)
ReplyDeleteI love the dress, such a clever idea!
ReplyDeletelooks like lovely weather! love the outfit. it looks simple. and lovely. it's simply lovely!
ReplyDeletebeautiful.
ReplyDeleteSuch a prety shoot Ana B! I like the way you've put it together too...
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of a dress swap. A former co-worker and I used to swap clothes often. 'Tis a good thing. Your magpie simile is dead-on and so inevitably true.
ReplyDeleteThe print on the dress you're wearing is lovely and is offset nicely by the color of your belt & wedges. So pretty, Ana B! The last photo makes me miss spring & summer. Don't you just love the wind whipping through a sea of tall grass? :)
these pictures remind me of the wizard of oz, kansas with a storm brewing.
