Monet in the Garden

I spent a day with Monet and a garden. A day I'm sure he would have been happy with. If Monet had been a photographer, he would capture treelines that change with the season, fog, haze, moors, deserts, marshes, monsoons, the Himalayas. In his lifetime, he could only go as far as the newly-built trains & train tracks could take him. If he'd been alive today - oh, the sights he would have seen!

  4. I love what you've done here! Monet's paintings are like a feast for the eyes. And I am always hungry for more. The museum that the art postcards I sent you are from has a delightful collection of works by Monet. I easily get lost in their splendor.

The thought of Monet as a modern day photographer thrills me. It's nice to imagine :)

Here is one Monet painting I particularly love.

  21. i love the quote.
don't need to understand something to fall in love with it. Am not an artsy person but i love those. I am the dumbest person when it comes to knowing art and artist. I love the galleries for it's design, and i admit i would probably look smart inside one. hihihiihhi.

thanks for sharing this. The photos are great too. You have an eye for art. am jealous

  24. what a lovely post! my sister and i both love monet. :)

i've never thought about painters as photographers ... this is a really neat idea to pontificate! i imagine monet finding the softness in every day life and picasso finding angles and lines.

I never used to like Monet until I saw a series of his work in person, and it completely changed the way that I thought about painting.
