Everywhere you go in this little city, you're hemmed in by the sea. Usually, I associate water with light, sun, and the smell of salt. But tonight, I see it for what it really is - it's dark, it's wild, and completely desolate. Human beings have plumbed space, reached the moon, planned to inhabit Mars. But the deep sea remains a mystery.

WOW! i want that dress with fur collar!
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful!
X♥X♥
although people have done a hell of a lot more exploring under the sea nowadays...
ReplyDeletei like the symbolism. in this book i read about communist china (The Long March), at one point when there was a clash by a river, all the thousands of dead bodies were just swallowed by the river.
and neat little 'link within' tool! I saw it for the first time on this other blog too! should i add it? hmmmmmm
i love the dress! well you're always the good dresser. hihi.
ReplyDeletehave a lovely day!
Love the mix of the flowered dress and leather jacket!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the beach. It is always more romantic at night...
Thank you for stopping by Sweet as a candy!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful dress!

love your dressss...
ReplyDelete=)
wanna xchange link darl?
how pretty! cool dress and photos.
ReplyDeleteWhat an adorable outfit! I miss the ocean. I used to live about an hour drive from it, but now I'm stuck in the middle of the country (why couldn't the ocean come with me??). Well, it was actually the Gulf of Mexico and the water was kind of gross, but... it was still so big and wild and fun to be around.
ReplyDeletei absolutely love the sea but if you're interested specifically in the deep sea you should check out the series 'earth.' it's got a good section on deep sea creatures (scary!)
ReplyDeleteThe sea is very mysterious and I think your pictures give the mystery very good.
ReplyDeleteI like your dress-top with flowers and the black harem-pant, they look great together :-)
ooo what a creepy depiction of water! it made me shiver :) so true though.
ReplyDeletealso, i love the outfits, especially the harem pants!
cheers-

ooh yeah, something about the ocean at night can be so scary..and yet so peaceful. weird. great outfit!
ReplyDeletelovely outfit! the dress is wonderful.
ReplyDeleteOh yay! It looks so cute on you, too.
ReplyDeleteLove a pretty floral dress, and tucking in the harem pants is a great idea!
ReplyDeleteGreat outfits and photos, genius wearing dress as top! Also love going to the beach at night, does seem dangerous and mysterious doesn't it? I like standing at the end of piers and looking down... I imagine myself flying over it a la 'Lost Boys' style. Remember that? xo
ReplyDeleteyou totally rocked those harem pants!
ReplyDeleteand you just gave me the encouragement to try them too. thanks!
I was just watching a documentary about the deep sea, and some of the fish they have down there are crazy. If I was a fashion designer I'd totally have a collection inspired by them.
ReplyDeleteAnd I love your leather jacket. I'm trying to convince myself that buying one is a sound investment and worth the money.
Ah, Ana I love this post. It's easy to say that about everything you share, but this is just so... inviting to the senses and imagination -- the feel of the cool night, the smell the salty air, the images of the mysterious deep that the black, churning water provokes.
ReplyDeleteLovely dress, too! I hope you're doing well lady :)
Its a lovely dress. It has great colors.
ReplyDeleteLOVE that dress! it looks really great as a top too.
ReplyDeleteonce again, these photos are so inspiring! I love that dress on you :-)
ReplyDeleteLOVE THE JACKET WITH THE DRESS
ReplyDeleteLOVE!
Pretty dress. I would love to live in a city "hemmed in by the sea."
ReplyDeletethere is something so magical about the ocean at night. you feel very alone, in a good way, and very at peace with yourself.

You have an award... xo
ReplyDeleteThose night shots are great. It must be nice to live so near the sea.
ReplyDelete..and I love both ways you wore that dress. So pretty!
I fall head over heels for that jacket! Matched well with the dress.
ReplyDeleteLoving the photos too!

SUCH beautiful photographs.
ReplyDeleteThis is perhaps one of your most beautiful series of photographs ever - these night shots are truly amazing. They make me feel like I've wandered into a Michel Gondry film.
ReplyDeletewonderful dress the print is so cute! and as everyone else has said the photos are lovely!
ReplyDeletehaunting words...love that you do the dress as the top, I've found it's one way to re-mix (also a way to salvage those dresses that end up being a bit too short!)
ReplyDelete*lusty*
These photos are so gorgeous! It makes me wish I could go to NZ soon! Love the photo of you by the sea!
ReplyDeletethe pictures are amazing! makes me wish i lived near the ocean.
ReplyDeletethe floral dress is super cute on you. and the leather jacket toughens up the outfit in such a cool way.
those beach photos look like they're from a mag, love em x
ReplyDeleteYum, yum, florals. I don't own anything floral. I ought to remedy that.
ReplyDeleteI am scared of the ocean. I don't like to think about the creatures lurking there. When I go to the beach, I swim until the thought of giant squid forces me out of the water, lie on the beach until I'm roasting, get in the water again until giant squid forces me out... Repeat.
The sea is pretty crazy. Have you ever seen the BBC Planet Earth type special on the ocean? It's so crazy how much we don't know about it.
ReplyDeletecute harem pants! i have yet to have the courage to sport those.
ReplyDeletecutest dress ever!!!
