carried with love

A couple of days after I got back, I fell sick with the flu! This means I still have not made it to work and most of my days are spent in bed sleeping. Obviously this is not conducive to fashion blogging seeing as nobody really wants to see me in my pajamas and glasses. Meanwhile, here are some of the beautiful things I picked up on my travels and handcarried with me through various airports. On another note, does anyone have any tricks for making shoes which are one size too big fit? I've been using all sorts of gel liners from the Party Feet range but it's just not working. Shall I give it up?

A pair of colourful bowls from Hong Kong

Ube (purple yam) hopia from Sorsogon, Philippines

Lotus Seed mooncakes from Hong Kong

Flowering tea from Hong Kong

Capiz shell tealight holders from Manila, Philippines

Pretty embroidered compacts from Hong Kong

Three-tiered beaded necklace from Manila, Philippines

Notepad, postcards and notecards from Manila, Philippines

  7. oh wow, you found some amazing items! as far as big shoes go, my only suggestion is to find a cobbler and see if they can put something permanent in there for you (a good shoe maker should have suggestions). i had a similar issue w/the fantastic frye ankle boots i bought last winter and i only wore them like 3 times b/c they were too big! i couldn't find a solution and had to sell them :(

  10. Hi, get well soon :)

In shoe shops you can buy soles. You put them inside the shoe. You've got leather ons, they are really comfy to wear them in your shoes. Good luck!

    And I love your purchases!
    Mooncakes are yummy!

  15. Are they closed toe shoes? Because at the store I used to work at what we used to suggest for people buying kids shoes - buying them big before they've grown into them - is that you stuff them with cotton in the toe, it should mould round your toes and stuff too. Just remember to change it once in a while lol.
