Listening to Rachael Yamagata's Reason Why. Just as I have sentimental attachments to pieces of clothing, I have a slavish devotion to songs which were playing during particular moments in my life, usually on my ipod. This one belongs to a bus trip along the Amalfi Coast from Sorrento to Rome, winding around the cliffs, watching the sun rise over the horizon, spreading sunlight onto the sea, and feeling melancholic about the people and things I'd left behind. It was kind of like this but six million times better in my memory.

Pretty pictures. Good weather certainly does make one feel guilty for staying in. Just think of all that Vitamin C. :)
ReplyDeleteI love your top.
ReplyDeleteAnd those trees.
Wonderful!
That song is beautiful - matches the picture that you paint so well. I feel a bit guilty sometimes when I don't enjoy the good weather mainly because I always complain about bad weather
ReplyDeleteI know exactly what you mean about BOTH your points. Music can trigger such nostalgia - especially when it's a significant moment (winding roads in Rome is pretty significant) and I also know what you mean about the feeling guilty for staying in on nice days!
ReplyDeleteThings that are awesome and envy-inducing:
ReplyDelete1) your bag
2) that story about Italy
beautiful...and cool you look...
ReplyDeleteThe details of the top is so beautiful! The color suits you so well too
ReplyDeleteIts funny how certain songs attatch themselves to a time period.
ReplyDeleteP.S
Cute shirt.
you're too cute!
ReplyDeleteI know exactly how you feel! Some days when it's sunny I'll wish that it's cloudy and rainy so I can curl up with a book and a cuppa tea.
ReplyDeletePS: I tagged you, but you might have already done this tag, so feel free to forward to someone else :).
That happens to me too! Certain songs take me back to special moments - and they almost always happen to be holiday memories. :)
ReplyDeletethanks so much! i know, the boots are fierce right!? too bad there's like 3 feet of snow where i live..making them a little tough to wear right now. thanks for the link, i'll add you back!
ReplyDeletetalk to you soon doll!
Beuatiful photographs! So happy and peaceful. Magical.
ReplyDeleteI love Wellington, and I would love to explore more as I usually just stay in the central city when I go down. You'll have to give me some suggestions next time I go!
I know what you mean about staying inside on sunny days, it truly does feel like you're wasting the day. Perfect soloution: reading in a hammock in the sun :)
Have a happy and hopefully sunny, day! xx
Lovely as always Ana, I hope your Christmas and New Year have been terrific. Oh to travel the world and see beautiful places... feel like my whole life is geared towards that. And now Barcelona is on my can't-be-missed list. As for the book-reading part, I can relate, except that I've just had a week away, spending all day sitting in the sun reading books. I have another week off work at home but suddenly feel guilty for not achieving lots of things. Dammit, this is my annual leave! But yes, the guilt I can relate to.
