ever wondered what was at the end of a rainbow?

...not leprechaun gold then. Just me. Sorry for the non-post last night. A book caught me and it wouldn't let me go. It even made me late for work.

♥ Top from Zara ♥ Necklace from Diva ♥ Skirt is thrifted ♥ Shoes from Mi Piaci

I was leafing through an old copy of Cosmopolitan which someone left at work. My workmates and I were left spluttering at an article entitled "Beautiful Flirting". Ladies, in order to catch a hottie's eyes, some suggested tips from the article are:

♥ Tilt your pelvis to showcase your childbearing hips
♥ Cross your legs to show or give the illusion of your great muscle tone
♥ Fondle a cylindrical object
♥ Expose your wrists
♥ and the absolute winner - Place your handbag close to him to demonstrate your intimacy and turst in him, because you love your handbag so much only cool people are allowed to be near it.

Obviously there's been some paraphrasing but I kid you not that is what it said. To think that only five or six years ago I used to gobble this rubbish up!

  1. I've been reading old magazines today too. I like them so much better than old ones.

  2. Was this article from the 50's!? I'm particularly fond of the "fondle a cylindrical object one." Next time I'm near a candle and a boy at the same time, that candle is going to get fondled.

  3. That handbag thing cracks me up! I love your skirt by the way - it looks gorgeous on you.
On a side note I am very brown at the moment, the brownest I've ever been, its a bit disconcerting at times...bad charlene not applying sunblock religiously!

  4. World had a 50% off a lot of their clothes today!!! I was walking past and saw the big sale signs, so I couldn't resist going in for a nosy. I came out later with a big bag in my hand :( If you have time tomorrow, you should go see if World still has the sale! :D There was an AMAZING waistcoat (black with double breast, kickass purple satin lining with silver skull print; look out for it!) that I wanted to get as well, but I has no monies...!

  9. I saw the end of a rainbow once when i was little - we were driving and i was hoping against all hope that the mountains would pass so i could see the end of it and find out for certain if there was a pot of gold - we eventually made it past the mountains and alas there was no gold :( Maybe it had just disappeared because it knew we were coming :)

  10. Oh Cosmo, always good for a laugh! Esp. the "expose your wrists"- I do feel Jane Austen-y in a disappointed way.
    Love your skirt!

  12. I can't believe I read Cosmo! It crosses the line of ridiculousness.

What book were you reading that made you miss posting? I love getting book suggestions from others - esp. from fellow blogger!
