Luella and Princess Margaret "on acid". Translating the sophisticated princess bride of the 1940s and 1950s into clothes a fresh, urban, sweet young thang would wear in a snap while keeping the pure romance and femininity of a glamour icon. Exposed zippers cutting through frills, pink floral prints, and topped with a bow. Tough buckle-and-harness detailing paired with a pearl shoulder strap. Headbands and veils in place of a tiara. A healthy dash of childhood fantasies of what a princess should be - all hearts, flowers, pearls, veils, and colour, colour, colour.

QUICK NOTE: Today is my first official Christmas holiday away from work. Hurrah. This means I have a lot of time to get around to the admin-but-very-important blogging things, like links. Please, if you would like to be added to my links list, drop me a comment! For new bloggers, I would especially encourage you to do this. This also means I will endeavour to drop by your blog once in a while to make myself at home.
OMG you just fufilled my blog browsing hunger today. Who is that designer BTW?
ReplyDeleteOh yeah, exchange links?

I WANT THOSE PINK AND GREY PUMPS WITH THE HEART ON THE SIDE >:O WANT! NEED! NEED, I SAY! ...ahem... :)
ReplyDeleteLuella is the fabbest!! Fell in love with her collection; almost; 1 or 2 yrs back and she never fails to amaze me!
ReplyDeletePrincess Margeret is so so glamourous!
Lovely comparison. I think Luella's playful approach is super darling.
ReplyDeleteasab: of course! it's done.
ReplyDeleteromantic apple: They'd look fantastic on you, hun! If only you made shoes instead of jewellery...a little bit of copyright violation never held anyone back, huh? Hahah!
penelope: Luella is really coming into her own I think. Her last two collection were especially covetable. The way she mixes really feminine, girly, whimsical things with tough, contemporary, androgynous looks - just beautiful!
clothes horse: I'm really looking forward to what else Luella will do.
