As I was walking out the door on Friday, I found my $1 pink woollen vest in my mailbox. I was so excited that I just chucked it on top of what I was wearing with no care of whether it even looked alright.

As an aside, the October issue of British Elle states that "all roads lead to the dress". A couple of years ago, I remember struggling to find a nice summer dress to wear. Now, dresses are a dime a dozen and I am so spoilt for choice. On the flipside however, dresses are easy. It's an almost foolproof way of putting together an outfit that always works. You can literally roll out of bed with 5 minutes left until you need to be somewhere, chuck the dress on, and be out of the door. Magic! Unfortunately, having a wardrobe crammed full of dresses means that I'm ever so rusty with putting together separates!
Separates are like Lego pieces. They're tricky. They require thought, creativity, effort. They require time and inspiration. And I've decided I really need to try and get back into practice. For this fashion mission, I've been drawing inspiration from the always amazing ladies of wardrobe_remix and the queen of separates, Susie Bubble. Anyway, I hope everyone had a fantastic weekend! I sure did. I felt summer creeping up on us Wellingtonians today. Hurray!
